Course purpose
To equip the learners with skills and knowledge about design of ICT based instructional design and Technologies.
Upon completion of this course you should be able to;
1. Explain the factors affecting the design and development of educational technology
2. Identify various design methods, their principles and applicability in educational technology
3. Critically evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of different design methods and models
4. Apply the knowledge acquired in the course to inform future design and development tasks

Instructional design concepts, approaches, and principles. Instructional design process. Design and development of educational technology. Instructional design methods and models. Online and web based learning: Overview of the current models of e-learning, current learning theories. Principles of online learning; the traditional ADDIE and more contemporary rapid prototype models. The roles and responsibilities of online student and instructor. Product development, interactive learning technologies, multimedia, distance education, and library and information literacy.
